Libbie

Hi, I'm Libbie, aka Mum, aka Mummy, aka Mummarooster, aka Mummarooney, aka Mumma, aka Sharalanda, aka Dennis, aka Mummio, aka Mother.

Yes, we love Bluey.

I am a busy mum of four (21, 8, 6, 6), step mum of one (12), wife of a super supportive man and former retail manager, cafe manager and full time night shift worker.

For years now I have felt that Miss Mack and myself are Neurospicy.

Grant and I did an incredible program with an OT earlier in the year, and from that I started converting our playroom into more of a craft/sensory room. I had an idea that doing sensory play with Mack could help with bringing her down when she's super heightened.

What I wasn't expecting was just how much calm and enjoyment that room would bring all three kids, and myself. I much prefer to hear the kids fighting over a particular rolling pin for playdough than the TV remote.

They were always asking for new bases for their sensory tables and then helped me make them. They love felt play and sorting trays. How could I not take this further. If this helped my kids so much, imagine how many other kids I could potentially bring calm to.

They are my inspiration.

And so JAMABEN was born.

Since starting JAMABEN, I was diagnosed with Combined ADHD (with my report stating severe presentation which always makes me giggle)

Mackenzie was also diagnosed with Combined ADHD and Level 2 Autism, and more recently, Jack was also diagnosed with Level 2 Autism.

This is something I am incredibly passionate and motivated about.

This is just the beginning.

Mackenzie

Mackenzie, aka Mack, aka Kenzie, aka Mack Attack, aka Mack Nancy aka McDonalds (8) is the only girl out of our five kids and the "Middle" Child. So she's got a lot going on.

Mack loves unicorns, rainbows and animals of all kinds. She's quite the animal whisperer. It's not uncommon to see her wandering around our yard with a chicken in her arms chatting away. Mackenzie also loves all things craft and sensory. She loves writing, colouring, drawing, painting and reading.

Mackenzie's fave colour is Pink.

Jack

Jack aka Jackarooster, aka Rooster, aka Jack Attack, aka Hungry Jacks, (6) was the first twin to enter the world. He loves Dinosaurs, especially T- Rex's, he loves being a Ninja, and loves playing footy. He also loves colouring in and is incredible for his age rarely straying outside of the lines. You'll be hard pressed to find him without his beloved "Washed Bunny" a Jelly Cat Bunny we gave him when he was born. We've had a few close calls with losing him, but like a cat, WB appears to have nine lives. After leaving him at school one Friday afternoon, he was missing for nearly a month. He was discovered high up in a tree. Washed Bunny now has a tracking TILE attached to him.

Jack's fave colour is Blue.

Benjamin

Benjamin, aka Benji, aka Ben, aka Benjamimarooney, aka Rooney, aka Mercedes Benz (6) entered the world 13 minutes after Jack. Ben's thing is sharks, with the Hammerhead being his favourite. He also loves Spiderman and playing footy with Jack. Ben has really taken to drawing what he calls "mini guy" drawings and has discovered a passion for writing anything and everything. Ben is obsessed with Halloween. I mean ALL things Halloween. We have Halloween play and decor in the playroom now all year round.

Ben's fave colour is Orange.
